I am a resident of the Latonia neighborhood. I've seen local streets in Cincinnati, and Covington itself going through changes to make living there more desirable. Except Latonia.
Currently, the section of Decoursey Ave. from Rittes Corner to James Ave, is almost unbearable. From the noise pollution of 11,000 cars a day on average, to the actual pollution from the Marathon Terminal and all the semi trucks that brings along with it.
This ruins our infrastructure and makes communiting in anyway besides a car, more dangerous.
I am promotiong a lane reduction from 2 lanes with a middle safety lane, down to 2 lanes with parking on a shoulder. This, along with converting most of the stop lights into stop signs would slow traffic and in time, make people take alternate routes.
To the left, you will find my ideas for how to make this happen. I will be adding more to this as I have a chance. Please take the time to look over this, send me your ideas for the area, and most importantly email/call members of KYTC District 6 and commission members in Covington.
